Osteria di Passignano
In one of the most picturesque villages in Chianti and adjacent to the ancient monastery you will find Osteria di Passignano. Part of the Antinori estate, the cuisine in this lauded restaurant takes inspiration from Tuscan traditions and is executed with elevated refinement. The Osteria offers an impressive selection of over 1000 wines that showcases an extensive range of fine wines from producers in Tuscany, Italy, and the world’s finest grape growing regions. Antica Macelleria Falorni
Founded in 1844, Antica Macelleria Falorni is the butcher shop of dreams. Located in the historic and charming Piazza Matteotti in Greve in Chianti, this is the go-to place for salumi of all types and an amazing selection of fresh meats, poultry and other products. The shop itself is vintage jewel that has preserved its centuries-old history, keeping an ‘ancient bottega’ atmosphere alive in every room, with its white marble counters, wooden shelves, antique slicers and original utensils bearing the signs of the business of the past. The fragrance of cured meats permeates the air and the countless prosciutti hanging from the ceiling complete the experience.

A place near and dear to our hearts. In a restored village just outside of Castellina in Chianti is Rocca di Cispiano, an agriturismo, farm and winery managed by the multi-talented vintner and artist Lorenzo Lepri and his business savvy partner Vania. By appointment only, this impressive young duo offers an intimate tour and tasting that showcases their wines and Vania’s culinary talents.

Gelateria La Carraia
Just across the Ponte alla Carraia and right on the Arno River in Florence sits perennial gelato favorite La Carraia. Whether summer or winter, you can always find a line of people winding its way out of the tiny shop up until closing time at midnight. The impressive number of flavors will render decision making pretty difficult—best to ask for a couple of samples then go with a few altogether. Teresa’s reliable go-to is Caramello al Burro Salato.
